“Hava Durumu: Sağanak Aşklı”, Ekavart Gallery – İstanbul

EKAV (Education, Culture, and Research Foundation) is hosting multidisciplinary artist Ergin Varlıbaş’s solo exhibition titled Weather: Rainy Love at Ekavart Gallery from February 11 to March 15, 2025. Curated by Burcu Ölmez, the exhibition presents the emotional intensity and volatile nature of love to art lovers through the energy of neon lights and the harmony of different materials. Addressing love, one of the most powerful themes in art history, with a modern approach, Varlıbaş invites the viewer to discover the philosophical and emotional layers of this universal emotion in his works. The “Mold” series featured in the exhibition also offers a striking narrative. Inspired by the mold patterns on the walls of abandoned buildings, the artist elegantly visualizes nature’s process of transformation and renewal beyond decay and deterioration. Reminiscent of Victor Hugo’s words, “Love is a force that can extinguish even the sun,” this exhibition addresses the energy, complexity, and transformation of love over time from a multidimensional perspective.
